(MA) NELA Class: D/s is in the Details (6/23) & SM 24-7 (7/21)

The New England Leather Alliance is proud to present:

D/s is in the Details: Protocol, Etiquette and Manners
Lady Angelica
On June 23,2007
1pm to 4pm

39 Hurlbut Street in Cambridge, MA
(cats present-medicate appropriately)

We all think we know what is meant by protocol, etiquette and manners but do we really understand how they relate to our community and how we can use them in our D/s relationships? Lady Angelica  will offer definitions and historical references to clarify the fundamental differences between the three concepts. She will also present a brief history that will put the terms in perspective as they relate to our modern lives. If you want to learn how to easily incorporate these concepts and ideas into our D/s  and vanilla relationships. She will offer suggestions on how to set up your own protocol and utilize etiquette and simple manners to keep your D/s relationships alive while traversing the realm of “vanilla” folk.

This is a good class for people just starting to explore D/s or those wishing to add more formality to their D/s relationships.

Lady Angelica (Angel) is a member of the Lone Wolves and has been involved in the kink community for over 7 years. As a Domme, she enjoys Victorian play and, because of this, does extensive research into all aspects of Victorian life.  She has presented “Tea and Discipline” for NELA, MOB and Black Rose and now, in an effort to help others understand the origins and kink-related applications of “Protocol, Etiquette and Manners”, she offers this presentation to NELA.

SM 24-7 Workshop
Cecilia Tan
July 21, 2007
1pm to 4pm

39 Hurlbut Street in Cambridge, MA
(cats present-medicate appropriately)

This workshop is for folks in the leather community who are in or who want to be in long-term full time SM relationships. What happens when you go from a fun evening of groveling and spanking to living together? Just because I'm a submissive, does that mean I always have to be the one to wash the dishes? How much of the time can you be "in scene" and why? Are you sure you both mean the same thing when you say "slave"? Are master/slave contracts and marriage vows compatible? We provide a framework of common issues that need to be worked out, common pitfalls, and common questions that any individual couple must answer for themselves. Bring a notebook if you wish to take notes.

Cecilia Tan has been a leather community activist since 1991. The author of Telepaths Don't Need Safewords, The Velderet, and Edge Plays, she has taught workshops on BDSM at  Living in Leather, Anything for Love,  the Northeast Bisexuality Conference, Leather Celebration, the Society for Human Sexuality, Good Vibrations, TES, and many other places throughout the US and Canada. The creator of the Fetish Fair Fleamarket, she has been a part of NELA since the group was founded.
